222Rn Activity Concentration Measurement and its Radiological Risks in the Environment of Barserin Village, Erbil-Iraq

In the present study, 222Rn activity concentrations were measured in Barserin village environment including (indoor rooms, building materials, soil and drinking water samples). The measurements carried out using a couple of passive active methods. obtained results average indoor radon concentration 28 dwelling rooms (living room+ kitchen) found to be (91±09) Bq.m-3, except houses H3 H12, which had above limited value declared by Environmental Protection Agency 148Bq.m-3. Living recorded higher than kitchens factor 1.36. Average emanated from material samples same region (57±12 45±08) respectively. values reported for black shale rock (127±08) Bq.m-3and sample S6 (115±20) Bq.m-3. For water, it was that 75% more maximum contaminant level 11.1Bq.l-1 proposed Agency. Finally, annual effective doses lung due quite worldwide dose 1.2 mSv.y-1, suggested ICRP, while within range action (3-10) mSv.Y-1recommended UNSCEAR.
